Esther-ettes Talita Estelle and Amanda Johnstone were absolutely thrilled to be invited to An Indian Summer, presented by Bobby Singh of The Taj Foundation and Australian-Indian fashion propellers, Artisans of Fashion. The event was filled with all the red carpet glitz and glamour you could expect and held over the weekend at The Star, in Sydney, Australia. The event raised a significant sum for partners The Steve Waugh Foundation, Dr Sam Princes' One Disease at a Time and Mewsic: A Brett Lee Foundation.
Internationally recognised and award winning designer Manish Arora, who divides his time between Paris and New Delhi showcased his latest exquisite collection, which boasts of extraordinary craftsmanship directly from Paris Fashion Week. Manish has been the creator behind iconic designs that have graced red carpets and stages globally (think Katy Perry in the carousel dress, Nicki Minaj in his coveted gold ribcage showpiece and M.I.A in a series of standouts). Australian-Indian designer Roopa Pemmaraju also left the crowd in awe of his new collection.
Glenn McGrath AM and Sara McGrath kept the crowd alive and the funds rolling in on their first ever MC debut (well done guys!) and we have a feeling they will be in hot demand on the MC circuit. Sara kept the crowd laughing with her sweet sense of humour and revealed more sari costume changes then a Bollywood movie set. Prinnie Stevens performed with an Indian inspired troupe of dancers and showcased her knockout vocals.
Glasses and funds were raised throughout the event and were joined by the very lovely couture bridal designer Leah Da Gloria, who wore a black gown from her latest collection and Stylerunners' Julie Stevanja, who wore as stunning ice grey sari.
